saith the aghori

there is a music festival coming to you, direct from this website, as soon as we can figure out how to pay for it.

The traveling online music festival is also a soup kitchen, of sorts. still managing to feed the band and generally at least a few others.

The soup kitchen is also a traveling permaculture school. We're going on tour. A Haj, actually. A spiritual pilgrimage to all the Holy Lands, the sacred spaces of our sacred spaceship. We're playing music along the way, feeding the hungry, getting the bystanders to dance, digging composting toilets, building sacred fires, planting gardens, gleaning veggies, harvesting rainwater...
investing in the local ecology, reaping economic dividends...
on a shoestring budget with a volunteer army of rainbow warriors...

a traveling music festival
thats a traveling permaculture school
thats a traveling soup kitchen
thats a traveling interfaith worship caravan
thats a nonprofit
thats a church.

at present, we are working on getting the vibe to the audience. Multimedia broadcasts, its only a matter of time.  Yup.

yup

This happens as enough of us agree to manifest it.

Forgiveness of Debts

The Asylum Project is a children's movement,
a Jesus Christ movement, an indigenous mother earth movement
this is our
moment.

the Asylum Project competes with government by providing public service.   This public-service nonprofit transcends contemporary categories by bridging the gap between religion, education, politics, and economics, by cornering the market on holistically-integrated permaculture.

Sustainable civilization will be required to create healthy working relationships between religion, education, politics, economics, and science.  They can't be compartmentalized forever without acknowledging the impact they have on one another.  These categories act as a feedback loop, influencing each other as they evolve.  For permaculture to be sustainable it must be holistic - the whole doesn't improve when its parts get weaker, the whole improves when parts get stronger and more resilient.  Through the anticipation of future market demand, the Asylum Project delivers entertaining and educational media content that captures imaginations, lifts spirits, and changes lives, by proving that helping one another is profitable both for our souls and for the marketplace.

In put up with one another, it would seem, we must be willing to get along, and the only way (lets face it) the only way to get along is to forgive one another, over and over again, as a way of life.

Am I the only one who thinks its really weird that Hitler invaded Russia but not Switzerland? Am I crazy or Did Napoleon do the same friggin thing? I mean, if Swiss banks have all the money then why not rob them - at least, for a friggin colossal mass murderer it doesn't seem to be to big a thing. You know, all in a days work and all.  The truth is Napoleon and Hitler were both financed by the Babylonian-Freemasonic banks hidden in "neutral" (i.e. politically off-limits) Switzerland, and these petty dictators wouldn't bite the hand that fed them.  All wars are banker's wars.  These friggin multi-generational banking families - these criminal politicians, these media scumbags... we're gonna have to forgive all of the sons of bitches.  Its gonna suck.  But we gotta do it.

Do you see how real sustainability requires beginning inside our bodies, with our emotional content and the contents of our minds?  This is meditation - the process of learning to tolerate, and ultimately love, ourselves.  Hopefully it is becoming apparent that real healing must begin within us and work from the inside out.  Keeping in mind the fractal nature of the universe, a truly holistic permaculture must begin deep within the individual and percolate outwards towards the macrocosm.  I would posit that meditation and yoga are catalysts for the permaculture movement, for these are both movements towards wholeness.  Meditation and yoga are movements towards personal wholeness, while permaculture is the movement towards collective wholeness.  The words "holistic," " integrated," and "consilient"  all describe the journey towards a more sustainable existence, both in the microcosm (yoga) and the macrocosm (permaculture).

The Asylum Project lays out the blueprint for a world full of abundance, peace, prosperity, and stability:  Requisites for sustainable civilization.  Plus we throw down heaps of love, and a general good time, so dig in - we've got a lot to accomplish!

Happiness Is ethical

Government is just a business with no competition.  Government is in the business of public service, doing a terrible job, and generally bought and paid for by big business.  In fact we could call government the political wing of the Too Big To Fail Banks.  Religion, of course, being the religious cover of the Too Big To Fail Banks.

Government has been hijacked by the world's most successful criminal enterprises, and has as such become the face of the world's most criminal enterprise:  the printing of usurious fiat currency.

Introduce some competition.  Lets see how government fares in the public service marketplace, with their dismal record and their exorbitant fees.  Lets see the competition capture market share.  Lets see the competition raise the bar of public service, lets see the competition redefine what public service looks like.

Lets redesign public service through education.  Lets re-educate ourselves.

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.  Teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime.  Lets learn how to fish.  Lets remember how to live self-sufficiently.  Lets make gardening the centerpiece of public education.

Any and all grassroots political movements will be crushed by the authorities.  The competition's only chance to show up in the world and make a difference is in the marketplace.  A revenue earning enterprise is tolerated by the state, as long as the state gets its pound of flesh.

And what sort of revenue earning enterprise might the state tolerate?  Why, an entertaining, one, of course!  If the enterprise is openly known to aspire towards competing (and winning!) with government, government is almost certain to crush it effectively simply by never letting it get off the ground.  The only way to stay below government's radar is to appear benign.  The evolutionary leap of socialnetworkism must take place under the cover of art, and it must be good art.  It must be art that sells.

Because free market socialnetworkism is creative.  And it is heart-centered.  It is not fundamentally materialistic, it is fundamentally spiritual, because it is consciously ethical.  We are not in it for personal gain, we are in it for the joy of useful service, knowing in faith that our needs will be met.  This is the ultimate and final act of rational self-interest - putting others first in the pursuit of genuine happiness.  Real happiness does not lie in selfish ambition - trying to be happy by being selfish is like trying to get a suntan on a submarine.  Real happiness lies in helping others.  And a critical mass is getting wise to the trick of being happy.

So how do we sell real happiness?  The one rule of marketing goes like this:  Its not what we're selling.  it's who's buying, that counts.  In this case, our target market is under siege from materialistic, usury-based servants of mammon, if you will -

Our target market is slaves who yearn for freedom - rebels who will never stop until Empire is overthrown.  Selling nonviolent, artistically creative, spiritual rebellion has a proven track record.  Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley and Jimi Hendrix all had it in common.  The revolution won't be televised, it will be sung and danced... Hasta la victoria siempre - viva la Republique!

Yoga, politics, and the blockchain

Yoga practice is basically community organizing.  The community is the body - the arms, the legs, the trunk, etc.  learning how to work together for maximum effect with minimum effort.  The community of parts working together for the benefit of the whole takes place in yoga practice as well as in political governance. The fractal nature of reality means that change in the microcosm is recapitulated in the macrocosm - you knew that already, right?

The ego is the deep state.  Yoga ruins the ego, because yoga takes us out of our head into our body.  We start breathing, and we start feeling, and we're no longer thinking about the stuff our ego wants us to keep thinking about.

Imagine a pyramid with an all-seeing eye on the top.  That's the deep ego - it's in charge of the body, and so the body does things that are good for the ego even if they aren't good for the body.  The deep ego rules the body, and the deep state rules the government.

Now imagine a torus - a tall donut, with energy moving up the inside and down the outside.  Instead of a pyramid with an ego at the top we now have a personality that is integrated as a whole - the feet, the arms, the gut, the heart, everything is felt.  The transition away from the pyramid towards the torus is the transition away from the ego into the body - the fruit of yoga practice.  Yoga can actually be defined as the journey from our heads to our hearts.

The ancients taught that as above, so below, and as within, so without.  As in the macrocosm, so in the microcosm.  Now that quantum physics has established that we live in a fractal universe, these laws are seen to be valid.  And so we see that the movement away from the ego towards the body taking place within us is replicated in the outside world by the movement away from the deep state towards cybernetic political representation - direct political representation through online media platforms.  Cybernetic political representation is the death knell of the deep state, which can only operate in an absence of transparency.

Through social media, we will be voting not just our politics but our entire range of preferences, and these preferences will be stored on a public, decentralized ledger.   The blockchain is the public ledger which non locally and transparently stores and displays our preferences.  In the end the blockchain is how we will achieve voting transparency and a stable, peaceful, participatory, sustainable Republic, which is the prerequisite to a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable civilization.  Using the blockchain we will voluntarily invest in the commons, in cost-effectively optimal fashion, donating our attention and our resources to the causes which are worthy or them.  Preventative care is both cost-effective and compassionate, so we will use the blockchain to invest in the long-term health and welfare of our planet and our collective capacity to nurture and provide for future generations.  Government won't do it - government is in the business of creating war, conflict, scarcity... divide and consume. Government is doing the work of the uninitiated masculine, just like religion.  This is going to happen on the open market, because the general public is destined to invest heavily in any viable alternative to unsustainable civilization.  It's not communism, it's not capitalism, it's not exactly socialism, its more like socialnetworkism.  Yup.  Not even joking.

The robots are going to take all our jobs, so after the debt jubilee, you know what we're going to do?  We're going to collect our universal basic income while we sit around and vote our preferences for a few hours a day from the convenience of our smartphone, because civic participation is not just our duty but our job.  You may think I'm joking, but I assure you I come from the future and I'm living through time backwards, and the reality I'm describing is the reality that I remember from a long time ago - I'm just trying to get back home.

Anyway.  It's not a bad future, I must say-

The Deep Ego

Relatives, our social networks seem to be getting hijacked by those who would have us focus on problems, rather than solutions.  Let's remedy the situation.

Political unrest, economic upheaval, environmental crises, religious extremism... everything is upside down and scary, at least if you buy into the problem.  So don't.  These are problems only in the context of the old paradigm. From the perspective of a new paradigm, this is a monumental opportunity - an untapped market bursting with unmet demand.  We as a collective species have an unmet market demand for political, economic, ecological, and spiritual integrity - a holistic model that treats all life as worthy of respect and dignity.  And only the Deep State stands in our way.

The market itself, then, is moving inexorably towards a nonviolent overthrow of the Deep State.  We live in interesting times, indeed.

As President, Dwight Eisenhower once famously said, "I think the people of the world want peace so bad, one of these days government is gonna have to get out of the way and let them have it."

We are now entering an awkward time when government is doing everything it can to prevent peace from breaking out, and failing.  We are on the cusp of a burgeoning global peace.  It's liberating if we can allow it, but it's also quite scary, as change tends to be.

Have you ever seen those pictures of our neural synapses compared to the arrangements of galaxies?  Our neural synapses are arranged in an identical geometrical pattern as the galaxies.  This is known as the doctrine of signatures - as above, so below, as within, so without... the fractal-pattern nature of reality means that the patterns we encounter within a system are systemic patterns, found throughout the system.

Another example is the water distribution of a river system as it branches off into tributaries - compared to the blood vessels of the body that branch off into capillaries, they are obviously the same pattern.  This is the doctrine of signatures - as within, so without, as above, so below. As in the microcosm, so in the macrocosm.  What this means is that we can encounter and overcome the Deep State by encountering it within our own system, as the Deep Ego, and moving our awareness out of ego into embodiment, the body, through the breath.

The practice of moving our awareness out of our "thinking" monkey-mind into an embodied presence through focus on breath and alignment moves us as individuals out of our own habitual deep ego into a somatic, intuitive, intelligent and empty awareness.  This trains us as individuals, and since consciousness is the ground of all being, training our individual consciousness is precisely how we influence the collective - via the doctrine of signatures, we nonviolently evolve beyond the Deep State by nonviolently evolving beyond the deep ego.

Learning to listen to our quiet and submissive bodies over the din of our loud and dominant egos is in many ways analogous to learning to listen to the feminine.  The ego is conscious,  linear, uses the language of logic, and insists on operating rationally in an irrational world.  Most importantly, the ego is loud, in charge, and threatened by everything.  (Sound familiar?  Kind of describes contemporary America, doesn't it?  America is making a difficult transition away from patriarchy towards a more balanced, holistic, integrated center.  We are moving out of an age of excessive yang and entering an age of balance between yin and yang.  It's a wonderful transition, but the yang forces don't like it very much!)

The body is subconscious, nonlinear, communicating through the inarticulate language of feeling and sensation, insisting on the changing truth, even as the ego insists on believing in constant lies (i.e. the primordial lie, the lie that it exists.)  The ego is the conscious sense of self, while the body is the unconscious embodiment of self, and just as we learn to listen to the body to hear its truth over the din of the ego, so to do we learn collectively to listen to the feminine, the unconscious embodiment of the divine as Mother Earth and her denizens over the din of the Deep State.  The Deep State wants our attention, because it wants us to focus on problems, not solutions.    Solutions would end the Deep State and create a responsive system, so it tries to distract us from solutions!

The Deep Ego operates in precisely the same way.  The Deep State is the problem, just as the Deep Ego is the problem, and the solution lies in moving out of ego into the body, just as the solution lies in moving out of the unelected Deep State into the body of the world, the body of Mother Nature and her abundant diversity of life.  Due to the fractal nature of reality, doing our yoga practice (which gives us the opportunity to follow the breath beyond ego into the body) disempowers the Deep State that dwells within each and every one of us.

Nature is the healer. Ecological investment reaps economic dividends, right?  Think of the goose that laid the golden egg.  The farmer killed the goose to get the gold, but no goose means no gold, dummy.  If we want the gold we must nurture the goose.  Excessive yang energy tends to compulsively kill the golden goose out of its insatiable desire for more gold, now.  This is not a path of long-term sustainability.  Learning to nurture the goose in order to receive its never-ending supply of resources over time is is analogous to nurturing the planet in order to receive its never-ending supply of resources over time.

Mother Earth is the goose who keeps giving us an infinite amount of golden eggs.  I'm not making this up.  Modern Capitalism - the Deep State, the uninitiated masculine, the male ego wants to kill Mother Earth in order to get the gold.  How immature!  Lucky for us, meditation is becoming the new normal (have you sat today?), so this all-consuming excessive yang energy is learning to gaze inward for happiness rather than searching endlessly for happiness out in the world.  This spells the death-knell for capitalism, which, by the way, is a good thing - Albert Einstein called capitalism "the predatory stage of human evolution."   Capitalism, and its colonial mercantilist roots, can be thought of as excessive yang, an uninitiated masculine consciousness that has not yet looked within itself and seen its own opposite, its deep interrelationship with its own shadow, the fertile and nurturing yin.  What will our economy look like when the health of the global ecology is considered a capital investment?

Meditation is the key which initiates the excessive yang energy, the uninitiated masculine consciousness, and tames the flames of desire.  Meditation reveals that real happiness can only be found within us, outside of the context of the sense world.  Through meditation the excessive yang consciousness loses its compulsive need to consume the exterior world in its vain pursuit of real happiness.  When consciousness is not instructed on how to find happiness within, it then turns to the external world for happiness, which is suffering.  Consciousness then becomes desperate for happiness, searching here and there, pursuing this and that, consuming everything in its path.  The Buddha didn't preach the Fire Sermon for nothing - "Everything is burning, burning with desire..."

The mind cannot find peace.  Peace returns to letting go mind.  The deep ego's desire to consume happiness and thus be complete has despoiled the world, and the dawning knowledge of this desire's futility - represented by meditation's arrival on the world stage - also represents the swinging of the pendulum away from patriarchal, excessive-yang hierarchies towards the reawakening of the divine feminine.  For a few thousand years yang has plucked the flower of yin in order to consume it, endlessly and exhaustively, leading to a world without love.  What does it look like for yang to nurture the flower of yin by watering it?  We may be balancing yin and yang energies, both within us and around us.  Imagine what that world will look like, because we are creating it.

What would a public policy of nurturing the golden goose to reap the golden eggs look like?  It would look like a policy of reaping economic dividends from ecological investments:

1.  Make gardening the centerpiece of public education.
2.  Make industrial hemp the centerpiece of ecological and economic rehabilitation.
3.  Audit and end the privately-owned Federal Reserve, and have the U.S. Treasury issue currency.
4.  Focus scientific research and development on the science of meditation.
5.  Make all publicly elected representatives spend at least 1/3 of their time in office managing soup
     kitchens in their respective districts.

It's a new paradigm, relatives.  Welcome home!  Now let's get to work - we've got a lot to accomplish.

The involution of man

Revolution itself is evolving.  Evolution is evolving, even.  We are now at the cusp of the collective involution of man - man's turning inward.  This is the masculine initiation into wholeness.

Yang consumes, Yin provides.  Yang takes, Yin yields.  The immature masculine wishes to merge with the other, and the only way he knows how to do that is to consume her.  And so he consumes her and he consumes her and he consumes her and she is utterly consumed and he remains unsatisfied and desires more, and that is how the story ends

all out of balance

until he finally realizes

that in order to escape this hell of isolation, in order to escape this hell of duality, he must abandon his futile attempts at consuming her and instead prioritize consuming himself.  In learning to consume himself the immature masculine is initiated into divine manhood.  This technique enables him to leave her alone, to yield, to maintain balance by honoring limits and boundaries.  This balance is the Tao, found only when Yang turns on itself and allows Yin her space.

The technique by which he redirects his energies from consuming her to consuming himself is the technique of meditation.  He turns his grasping, consuming awareness towards himself.  He turns his awareness away from all other sense perceptions and focuses only on his own physical sensations.  This is the technique of vipassana.  This is yoga asana.  This is how yang balances with yin, this is how peace is forged out of the war between the sexes.  By turning his attention inward, he takes his attention away from ravaging her.  Yang gives space to Yin.  This is the initiation of the immature masculine into divine masculinity.  The desire to pluck the flower is replaced with the desire to water the flower.  The desire to consume the feminine is replaced with the desire to nurture the feminine.  The technique of meditation - the technique of observing the self in the present moment - is the tool by which the uninitiated man becomes initiated.  It gives the all consuming yang something to be endlessly consumed - the self.  Self-inquiry, or meditation, is an endless feedback loop that gives consciousness  itself a good first-hand look at consciousness itself.  This is quite a remarkable phenomenon, to say the least.

Once a man accidentally woke a demon.  The demon told the man he'd accomplish anything the man asked him to, but would consume the man if he ever ran out of things to do.  The man instantly came up with an enormous request list:  building castles of pure crystal, etc, but as fast as he thought them up the demon accomplished the task.  It was tough going, so the man took off running and found a yogi meditating by the path.  He explained the story while the demon was off building a planet somewhere, and the yogi plucked a sprig of curly hair from his beard.
"Have the demon straighten this curly hair," said the yogi.  The man handed the sprig of hair to the demon, who had just returned and was about to consume him.
"Straighten out this curly hair," said the man, and the demon straightened out the hair, which instantly curled up again.  The man left the curly hair with the demon, who was now occupied with the sprig of curly hair.  Whenever the man needs something done, he has the demon do it, but when he has nothing for the demon to do, he has the demon straighten out the sprig of curly hair.

The demon, of course, is our mind.  The sprig of curly hair is our breath.  When we have something for our mind to do, it accomplishes great things, but when we have nothing for it to do, it tends to consume us!  This is yang energy, needing something to consume.  Yang is like fire, in search of wood.   In meditation, we offer our breath to the demon of our mind, which is then occupied, and so we experience freedom.  this stillness is a point of balance between yang and yin - a place of balance.  Within us, and  - according to the fractal nature of reality - around us.

Culturally, we have evolved to the point where meditation is becoming the new normal.  It is the paradigm shift we've all been waiting for.  This means that the adolescent patriarchy which has been running the planet for the past few thousand years is growing up, and studying itself without shame, and learning a great deal, and allowing space for the reawakening of the divine feminine.

Meditation is the revolution.  Meditation is the evolution of evolution.  Meditation is the involution of mankind.  Allow these words to melt away, observe your own embodied sensations, and allow every exhalation to be the emptying of the vessel that is your mind...
